What is the time commitment required of players?
For divisions U6 and up, there will be two practices and one game each week, typically on a Saturday morning. For Panther Cubs, practices are just one day a week on Saturday morning.
What should my player bring to practices and games?
Players need a water bottle, shin guards, cleats, and the correct size ball for their division. Rules can be found HERE.
Ball Size 3: Panther Cubs (U4), Instructional (U6), Passers (U8)
Ball Size 4: Wings (U10), Strikers (U12)
Ball Size 5: Kickers (U14), Minors (U16), Seniors (U19)
How are practice days and times decided?
Volunteer coaches are able to request the days and times that work best for their schedule. LMYSA Board takes these requests into consideration as practice days and times are being finalized.
When will our team have a game schedule?
Game scheduled are finalized a few weeks after the first practice. Your coach will send the game schedule out as soon as it is finalized.
What is the jewelry policy?
Jewelry Policy: SAY Law 4 Section 5
Illegal / Unsafe Equipment: The following shall be considered examples of illegal or unsafe equipment and shall not be worn by any player:
Shin-guards with exposed sharp edges
Jewelry or watches
Face or spectacle guards
Helmets of hard material
Any type of cast or splint (other than inflated “air” casts or “air” splints), even though covered with soft padding
Knee brace(s) - unless wrapped and covered with soft padding and approved by the Referee
Cleats (rubber, plastic, or metal) with sharp or jagged edges
Foreign objects in the mouth (such as gum or ice), other than internal orthodontic devices
What is the inclement weather policy?
If you hear thunder, if you see lightning, all play is stopped for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Play will not resume for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last sight of lightning or sound of thunder in your area.
Cars should not leave until the game is called, so all players can be accounted for.
Games are canceled by the organization or referees and coaches will communicate any canceled games directly to the team. This does not always happen in advance of the game, as weather is unpredictable.
Coaches can also decide if weather looks too unpredictable (heavy rain, wind, or storms), or the heat/cold too excessive, to hold practice safely. In this event, coaches will need to communicate practice cancellations with their team directly no later than 5 pm.
What are the registration and season dates?
Spring Season: Registration will open at the end of the Fall Season, in October, and end in early January. The season begins practices in March with games starting a few weeks after.
Fall Season: Registration will open at the end of the Spring Season, in May and end mid-July. The season begins practices in August with games starting a few weeks after.
How do refunds work?
Full refunds, minus any online fee, are given if notice of withdrawal is given prior to the roster draw. Once placed on a roster, a refund (minus online fee and late fee) is only given if the player 1.) Relocated out of the area prior to the draw, 2.) Has a medical exemption - injury or 3.) Makes the Little Miami High School or LMFC soccer team. **This does NOT apply to kids who decided to play for another school or club.
